At the 2024 Genuine World Cup in Houston, a team dropped out. Organizers assembled a scratch squad from local inclusive-sports organizations so athletes would not go home without a match. The players had never met, trained together, or worn the same jersey. United Genuine FC was born from that afternoon.
A mission before a roster
United Genuine FC trains on Friday and Sunday evenings on its own pitch in Memorial/West Houston. Professional coaches lead scrimmages and friendly matches while building a genuinely inclusive community in a part of the sport major kit suppliers have historically overlooked.
